1st Haircut!

Well we finally broke down and did it! That's right, we got Logan his first haircut. After months of being told by most of his Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents (thank you to all of you!) we did it. We hired a hairdresser to cut Logan's hair. But not just ANY hairdresser, the BEST, her name is Dede and she specializes in children and people with disabilities, plus she travels to you. Yup! She came to the house on Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock and cut our babies hair. Well, he isn't a baby anymore thanks to the haircut. Now he is a true toddler, or in my eyes could be starting kindegarten this month, that is how grown up he looks.

See the before.........

During.........By the way, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents, thanks alot! This was not a fun experience! He was not happy the minute Dede put the paper around his neck to put his robe on. In a second he was screaming and crying and asking to be put down. I had to get in there with the car movie and talk to him, sing to him and of course.......

rub nosies with him. Or as we call it Eskimo kisses! It is nice to be SOOOOOO needed.

Don't be fulled by the picture in the left hand corner that was only for 1/2 a second that he was calm during the entire 10 minute haircut. Dede did a great job and promised me that this was a normal reaction.

Look how handsome my boy is now!!!!!

(Kindegarten picture, haha Just kidding!!! Place your orders now. Yes I did put moose in his hair!)

Our Garden in full bloom!

The Caldwell Garden is in full bloom! We are picking tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, zucchini and green beans everyday. Unfortunately the strawberries are being eaten by the chickens and Bella, so we haven't been able to be so lucky with those. My flowers are looking amazing too, I am starting to get a green thumb, I guess that is what staying home with a 1 1/2 year old will do to you. I feel so fortunate that Mitchell has given me not just one of my dreams but many of my dreams come true, the most important one for the both of us though has of course been Logan. We couldn't have asked for a healthier, happier little boy. He truly has given us some of our most happiest moments.

Now on to the garden......do you remember what it looked like in the beginning? Check it out for a re-cap before you scroll through the updates.
Can you believe how big the girls, chickens that is, have gotten?  Of course they all have names too! Betty, Grave Digger, Thomas, and Cacciatore, (AJ named the two boy names for him and Logan and Mitchell and I named the other two.) They are keeping all of the bugs, snails, some weeds and of course all the green foilage on our garden down, they are fun to watch though.
That is our corn, yes it is about 6' tall and the green tall stuff here in the bottom right is my sunflowers, hopefully they will get flowers soon. I LOVE sunflowers!
A favorite of mine from our camping trip, look at those DIRTY hands, and yes he has a scratch on his forehead from falling out of the trailer and a bump on his eye from falling outside on a rock. His knees are all skinned up and he has bruises that I don't know how he got. The life of a boy, he had so much fun.

Camping Trip # 2!

Camping Trip # 2 was just as special as # 1, however this time there was no rain in site but we did have beautiful 85 degree weather, it was a good thing that the water was within walking distance and we sure took advantage of that everyday!

Packing up to leave was a lot easier this time with the trailer parked in our front drive for a couple of days. I was able to clean, pack and shop all with Mitchell's help. The Osorio's went with us on this trip, that was AWESOME!!! Aaron came over a couple of days before we went to pick up all the dirtbikes and equipment.

After we arrived and set up camp, we headed right down to the water for a dip to cool off! It was too perfect, we could see the water from our site in one direction and snow on the mountains in the other direction. Breathtaking!

The Osorio Family (our best friends)

Logan and Mateo loved each other, they had a blast playing in the water, dirt, or with trucks the entire time. They were full of love for one another too, which made Roman a little jealous. He informed us that Mateo never gives him hugs or kisses, and that he wished he did. Too Cute!

Logan liked walking around in the water the first day, he wasn't too sure about the tempurature of the water though. (the pool for swim lessons is heated, and so is the bath of course.)

Caldwell Family Camping 2011

Water action photos, Mitchell's favorite, Maria and Aaron holding hands and jumping in together. What daredevils!!!!

I never built up the courage to jump in with Mitchell, he won't let me forget that, maybe next trip. He sure got his fill of the water and jumping in though.

Mateo and Logan took quite some time figuring out how to fix that little green chair, after they had some milk and relaxed from swimming. They laughed, talked and even yelled at one another. It will be interesting to see these two when they are older, playing, laughing and talking about sports and girls. That is all going to happen too fast for Maria and I.

Mateo and Logan Camping 2011
(too cute for words!!)

Pa surprised Logan and rode his motorcycle up on Wednesday night, but Logan was just being put to sleep by the time he arrived. So we waited to surprise him until Thursday morning! Let me tell you he was VERY excited, he never let Pa out of his site the entire day. Which was a good thing for Mitchell and I, because Mitchell taught me how to ride a dirtbike, once again. It has been about 4 years or so since I have riden one.

Mitchell and his dad have the same form when jumping in the water.

Dirtbike Family!!!

Back to the water after that long hot ride!!! We were all sweaty and hungry from riding all morning, it was awesome, I only layed the bike down once and I only stauled a few times. I didn't really forget what to do, but I had two of the best teachers you could ask for. Thanks Dad, (Keith) and Mitchell!!!!
Can't wait to ride again!

Sandy toes for Tante Lauren.

Three generation Caldwell Men!!
(yes Mitchell and his dad are in the same t-shirt)

It was a great trip!!! Logan had a blast, came home with a lot of cuts and bruises but nothing is broken he isn't sunburnt, unlike me, and he is sleeping in his crib happily. Can't wait for the next camping trip, we are ready to go again.

4th of July!!!!!!

I was reminded yesterday that it has been quite some time since I have blogged! Sorry, that we took a little hiatus, it has been busy around the Caldwell Farm though. The garden has taken over the backyard, tomatoes are being picked daily, zucchini is coming out of our ears and we can't wait until that corn is ready for the picking! Lemon Cucumbers however, are having a mind of there own as well as the green beans. (pictures of garden to come soon!) So......what have we been up to well, swim lessons which are a blast and the end result a WONDERFUL nap! We have played in the sandbox, played with our chickens, donated a couple of chickens to family members and hung out with family, family and more family.

On July 3rd we headed up to Angwin to celebrate a little 4th of July with Nonna and Papa Jac and some of there fabulous friends and family. Logan got to meet Quinn and Elias for the first time since being born, that was very exciting to see three boys with in 2 years age difference from Logan and 2 months difference playing and trying to share or not share toys with each other. Can't wait to see them again!

Nonna took Logan for a walk around the vineyard! Which of course he loved, he always gets lots of special attention from his Nonna!

These two men are special and dear to my heart! They have made all of my wishes and dreams come true! Are they just the most handsome and loving men you have ever seen!

4th of July!!!! It was finally here and my tables were waiting to be set for all my company, but first it was off to the parade to watch Pa and the tractor make there grand entrance, but it was only complete because this special man and his beautiful wife were there to watch it with us. Logan sat in his lap the entire time while I snapped pictures and text Mitchell all kinds of updates. ( he had to work, :( )

Sorry no pictures from my party, because I had a very unhappy boy and I never once picked up my camera, only my iphone to text Mitchell lots of pictures. So it seems we will not be having a bounce house at our house anytime soon again, as Logan DOES NOT like them. If you so much as say "bounce house or jumpy", he is crying and screaming and wants to go inside. Everyday is a new day! He loved the bounce house after his birthday with Jackson and him jumping in it, but just could really care less about it now.

Stay tuned for garden and yet another camping trip update!
