Tahoe! First family vacation as 4

Tahoe, our favorite place! For Father's Day Logan and I planned a trip for daddy, a trip to the cabin in Tahoe!!! On the way up there we stopped off in Sacramento to have lunch with one of our favorite little families, The Kelly's, by the end of lunch they were coming up with us! It couldn't have been sweeter having Ryan there for his first Father's Day, just like Mitchell had just a couple of years ago. Logan was so excited to play with Finn at the cabin and at the lake.

Lauren and I shared a few nursing sessions together, my current favorite past time. We had to take a picture of the two of us to document this special time, which will end all too soon. Logan was a big boy this trip and slept in a big boy bed in his sleeping bag and only fell out of bed once. Yes, he fell out of bed still in his sleeping bag.
Logan saw the big trampolines in town and was begging us to jump, "I get a ticket, I jump," he said. So of course we bought him his ticket and took him to jump but he did not want to wear the belt, a little crying occured, so that was the end of that.

The Lake! Rum Runners, peeing by trees, ducks and awesome company! What more could you ask for.

Yes, that is Logan taking a pee by the tree at the lake. He said he had to go and when your potty training and the child says that they have to go, by all means let them go!

Taylor Creek, our official Father's Day tradition. Logan was taken here when he was just 4 months old and well back again at 2 and Hunter at 2 months. Logan really liked it this time of course. He is all about Fish. and dinosaurs, dragons and well any animal really.

It was a wonderful trip. This marked a lot of good things for the Caldwell Family, Logan sleeping in a big boy bed and actually staying in it until we came to get him. Hunter sleeping 6 - 7 hours a night, putting him in his crib when we came home, first of many trips with the Kelly family, Hunter is a great traveler, Logan watching a movie in the truck, and well the first of many trips as a family of 4!

2 "MonthDay"

Dear Hunter, You are now 2 months old! 2 Months is quite a milestone for you, sleeping 6 - 7 hours a night, less crying, awake alot more during the day and your baby acne has cleared up. I can most times predict what you want. Usually after you have nursed and been changed you just want to be swaddled and left alone, otherwise look out "let the crying begin." Sometimes though I do get to cuddle with you, and I always cuddle and tell you how handsome you are during your nursing sessions. Which by the way still come every 2 to 2.5 hours from one another.

You still have your moments where you look like your brother but then the next moment you have your own look. Logan is still very fascinated by you. He still lets us know when you are crying and says "I go check!" I think you two will be very close and hope that you remain close through your adult life. There is nothing like having a sibling to remember life with.
Everyday is a new day for you, and I hope this happy baby remains because we have lots planned for the summer!

Stay tuned for pictures of your first family vacation, Tahoe 2012.

1 "MonthDay"

Dear Hunter,
You are here, you are one month old, and you are my baby boy! I cannot even believe that one month has already gone by. Time sure does fly once you have children. The weeks seem like days, the months seem like weeks. You are your own little person, wonderful at nursing, not sure if that is because I have done it before or am so focused on enjoying every moment of you being 100% dependant upon me. You take good little naps throughout most of the day and we now have you sleeping
2 1/2 to 3 hours a night. You can burp like nobody's business and when you do your business you can hear in another room. Being swaddled is your ut-most favorite, after you nurse and get a diaper change you want to burp and cuddle and then it is off to sweet slumber time for you. The swing is your favorite place to be in the late morning early afternoon, this week anyway, and everytime you hear your brothers voice you settle right down.

I am trying to manage having two little boys, and so far so good. Dinner time, bath and dedtime seems to be the hardest. Not only for me, but for Logan too! He doesn't want to miss a thing and I think he thinks you sleep in our bed. I try to leave you in the bassinet in the morning when I get him up so that he see's that you are only in our room, not our bed. Leftovers, not usually one of mama's favorites, has become a favorite. I think I will be eating lots, and I mean lots of leftovers!! Hopefully in the next month or so we can start to get more sleep at night, I know that daddy would really appreciate it.

Love you to the moon and back!

Visitors, Baths, Cousins, and 1st trip out!

Our first 3 weeks have been a whirlwind! It just doesn't seem possible to have had 3 weeks go by already. We have been so spoiled with all the family bringing dinners, lunch or even just coming over to play with Logan so that Mitchell and I could get some laundry done, or just sit and visit with one another. The dinners have been amazing, Nonna's Lasagna, Brandy's special enchiladas, Manya's amazing meatballs and she even made Va's chocolate cream pie for dessert! Nana's fried chicken, Auntie Lisa picked up Lawlers, one of mama's favorites, and we can't leave out Pa's specialty, steaks on the BBQ. My freezer is stocked with dinners to throw in the oven too! (thank you Tante Lauren for making grandma's special enchiladas, can't wait to bake those).

Hunter is a wonderful Nurser and sleeper, however we are still trying to figure out the nights. He is a little bit of a tease when it comes to sleeping through the night. He will wake up every 2.5 hours for a few nights and then surprise us with a couple 4.5 hours of sleep for a couple nights. Not sure what we are doing different on those days, but I know it will get figured out soon enough. Logan is SO in love with him, he always wants to know where Hunta is, and if he can kiss his head, and of course he has to tickle his feet anytime he gets the chance. Whenever he kisses or hugs him he is always sure to tell him "I love you sow mooch." It just melts my heart.

Hunter's first bath was just as exciting as when we gave Logan his, except this time Logan was the helper! He liked getting Hunter wet and splashing the water in Hunter's bath instead of in his own. He pointed out that Hunter has a pee pee and is in the pee pee club with Logan and Daddy. Hunter does not like being taken out of the water, and I am sure that is for a number of reasons.

Our first outing as a family of 4 was to the Oxbow Farmers market on Monday morning, when Hunter was almost 2 weeks old. I was dying to get out of the house and of course wanted to show off my new baby boy. Even though he slept in the baby carrier I wore the entire time. We met up with Aunt Manya and Uncle Nacho, walked all around looking at the wonderful veggies, no fruit that week, and of course the fresh cut flowers!!!!!

40 Weeks, but wait something is different!

Hunter has arrived! I was due on April 20th but Hunter decided to make his grand entrance into the world on Wednesday, April 18th at 12:39pm. So sorry no belly shot for my 40 week date, instead I am holding our healthy baby boy in my arms. I started contractions at about 5:45 am on the 18th and monitored them until about 8 am. Then we called in to Labor and Delivery to see what they recommended, they had me monitor them for about another hour an a half and at that time I was having them pretty close together and pretty strong, so they said come on in and we will see what is going on. I knew I was having him, I wanted to wait until the 19th to have him on my brothers birthday but Hunter had his own plan of having his own birthday. By the time (10:15 am), we got to the hospital my contractions were 2 minutes apart and every other one was VERY strong. Nurse Vicki said, "looks like your having a baby today!" They didn't want me going through any laboring since I was scheduled for a c-section on Monday, April 23rd, so everything happened very fast. I was taken right in for c-section, along with my team, Mitchell, of course and our beautiful and very strong  god-daughter Amy.

Here we are a week later with two beautiful boys! Logan is SO in Love with his "baby." He wants to know where he is at all times, give him kisses and hugs and hold him. If Hunter starts to cry he talks to him and tells him "it's ok baby hunta." Logan has been pretty spoiled with lots of visitors and special gifts. Hunter bought Logan some Legos for the day he came home and also got him a Beta fish for his room, whom is known as Diego fish. It has been pretty amazing all of the help and food that has been brought to us! Nonna and Papa Jac made us Lasagna for our first night home as a family of four. Tante's and Dinha brought Villa Corona for lunch with Mochachini's from Java Hut, and played out in the new fire hydrant sprinkler Logan got. Then of course Nana and Boo Boo have been over helping with laundry and house cleaning while making me my favorite, fried chicken with gravy and corn! Yummy!!!! Can't wait to see what Logan's Dinha brings us next week, and I know that Tante Lauren has got some pretty amazing Enchiladas coming my way next week too! But first Auntie B, Pining and AJ will be here with some famous chicken enchiladas from Auntie B's kitchen!!!

Now our family is complete!

LOVE x 2!!!

38, almost 39 weeks.........whew!

Dear Hunter,

We are literally almost there! We had a check-up today, it was supposed to be our last but you haven't really been cooperating the last few days. Meaning, I haven't felt you moving like I have the last 9 months and well my blood pressure is a little high. So today, what was suppose to be an in and out doctor appointment ended up being about a two hour appointment. Complete with blood pressure check and re-check, stress test and ultrasound and blood work! Good news though, you are safe and sound in the belly, just running out of room and you have dropped down even more into position than you were two weeks ago. That explains the cramping I have been having.

We have already been getting spoiled with visitors bringing us dinner! The Mortimores came over last week and brought a nice dinner, then Pa and Ma came over to dye Easter eggs with Logan and asked to bring dinner, Taqueria, YUM! Tonight, oh tonight, the Tante's are bringing dinner. Ravioli's and Malfati's from Lawlers with garlic bread and salad. Tante Lauren is bringing ice cream from Leatherby's, my favorite, to make sundaes, then it is slumber party time equipped with scary movies, to keep with the theme of Friday the 13th! Then on Saturday, my Shitbird, your Dee is coming over to take care of me and Logan! I can't believe she is 16 and wanting to hang out here with me, although we are pretty special, and she always says we have the best food to snack on.

Daddy installed your carseat a couple of days ago and it is a little bittersweet to think that in just a week I will be driving around with two boys in my backseat! (ok, well I won't be driving for a couple of months, daddy will be) I can't believe that after thinking for SO long that we wouldn't have any children and now to think we are going to have TWO! It is just amazing, Daddy and I couldn't be happier and can't wait to meet you. Keep moving around in there and stay cozy for at least a little bit longer. If you want to come on the 19th I am sure that Uncle Joe would be thrilled!

We love you!!!

Easter

Easter, one of my favorite Holidays!!! This year started out on the Thursday before with Pa and Ma coming over to dye eggs. Logan of course wanted to drink the dye, I think he thought it was juice. It was fun watching Daddy, Logan and Pa talk about the colors and if they should stay in the dye longer. Daddy worked on Easter so we gave Logan his Easter basket full of new Lightning McQueen sheets, Max & Ruby book and of course a nice big backpack. He has been asking for a backpack for weeks. He loves to wear it around the house and fill it with all kinds of toys.

On Easter Sunday we headed over to Boo Boo and Nana's, Mama usually hosts Easter at her house but with Hunter scheduled to arrive in only 12 days, Nana insisted on having everyone at her house. Thank you, Nana!!!!! Of course mama couldn't resist helping with all of the planning, right down to the decorations and invitations.
Strict orders from Daddy though, she was to stay off of her feet! Dinha and Dee made sure that happened, they helped Nana ALOT!
    Hunter's first present, handmade boots!

Easter was a little bittersweet for Mama this year, my last holiday with just my one boy! Next holiday I will be a mother of two, I just can't believe it!

Nonna and Papa Jac came out for Easter Day! Nonna brought some delicious Pioneer Woman potatoes, I will be making those as soon as I get a minute! She also brought Logan some pretty sweet boots for this Winter!

Pa and Ma came with Great Grandma and Grandpa Caldwell, they brought Logan a life vest for summer camping at Icehouse and beyond! Logan loves to wear it around the house.

Oh the food! Lots and lots of food! Ham, deep fried Turkey, salads of all kinds, beans, potatoes, potatoe salad, rolls, etc.......

Finn was there! Oh the many faces of Finn!!! As soon as he got there, Logan and him were SO excited to see one another, I hear there was squealing and hugging that just wouldn't stop!

Finally, the HUNT! Dozens and Dozens of eggs, cousins and friends all helping one another out to find that one special egg! Too cute! Can't wait until next year!!!
